Do you have self-tanning tips?

Tis the season and I look like Casper! Does anyone have excellent self-tanning tips I could use for a streak-free tan? Especially around the knees and ankles - yikes!

I don't use self tanners for the same reason. But last year I used the Jergens or Suave (can't remember the brand) lotion with tanner in it. The daily glow or something, the one with all the commercials. Helpful aren't I?

But it worked pretty well and gave me some color.

Wear latex gloves when you put it on, so your palms don't turn orange! Do your thighs and calves first then with the leftover lotion you have on the gloves (very little) go over your knees and ankles. This is the best way that I've found to go about it.

Good luck on the run!!

Once a year I buy a month of unlimited tanning at a salon that is having a monthly special ($15-20 - great deal!). In fact I need to get on that! I don't trust the self tanners either because of the streaks. I like the quickness and even-ness of the tanning beds.

Yes, I use to love the tanning beds myself. However they are really bad for you!

I think they now have some that show color right away so maybe that would make it easier to apply for you.

I use self tanner from time to time. I usually exfoliate first by using a salt or sugar scrub. After that, I apply the tanner (I use a light shade and use my bare hands). I do the larger areas first then the joints (like I will do my thighs, calves and then my feet, knees and ankles.) I make sure to have very little lotion on my hands when doing the joint areas. Wash your hands immediately afterward. It is important to let it dry completely before getting dressed. I wouldn't wear a white shirt the first day (when you prespire you could get some ruboff around the collar and sleeve areas). If you notice an area where you went to heavy after it drys (usually around the joints) you can get the excess off using soap, water and a wash cloth.
