Well I lost 2.5 pounds this week. Woohoo! I started keeping a food journal and it REALLY helped me. I kept my calories under 1500 a day and I exercised every day except for one, even if all I had time for was a 30 minute walk. I am getting there.

BUT I did put on one of my bathing suits thinking I would be pleased to see my progress and it just depressed me. My legs still look like tree trunks. I am starting to think that no matter how thin I get this is just the way they are going to be. They didn't look like this before kids!!! Ugh. How do I cover up the thighs on the beach without looking like a grandma? Those little swim skirts look ridiculous on me. My stomach looks pretty great if I do say so myself, so I don't want to cover everything, but what will be flattering for me? I have to be able to get in the water and chase my 2 boys so a normal coverup isn't going to work. I have been thinking about trying to find some board shorts that I could wear with my tankinis. Would that look dumb?

Great job Maggie!

I lost quite a bit of weight since last Friday- when I noticed I would have to work hard on my goal- I only need to lose 8.5 lbs in 4 weeks! I lost 6.5 lbs this week- I worked really hard on it! I lowered my calorie intake by 100- upped my water to .55 per lb., I have done at least 30 minutes cardio every day, every other day did at least 30 strength training and also ran around the house like mad. Oh- I also started to do a bit of kick boxing to "de-stress" myself. Oh I also started to use that Nivea Good-bye Cellulite- I will let all of you know how that works in about 4 weeks (when they say that it is noticeable).

Good job ladies.:rah rah:

It's been a while since my last weigh-in. I started the Special K diet on Monday so I did weigh myself Monday and by today I have lost 4 pounds!!!! :happy dance: It's easier than I thought it would be - plus I am walking at lunch time with a couple of co-workers and walking in the evening with my kids and MIL.

Here's to keeping up the ambition and motivation!!

I know its depressing but I have to say I tried on a swim skirt from Lands End and it was not riduclous looking! Just try it! Then again I am 37...

Good job losing! I am still not down per the scale but I feel good and I cheated last night with a bowl of popcorn while watching Greys!

Great jobs ladies! Let's keep up with what were are doing- every little bit helps!

I know I am still upset that I probably won't look as good as other people on the beach- but I am working really hard on what I am doing and will just suck it up- cause I know that I look better than what I did when I first started!

Wow, y'all are doing so well! Stevesgal - 6.5 pounds is unbelievable. It takes me a month to lose that much. Awesome!

And momof2boys - I am 36 so I am right there with ya. Maybe I need to go to Sears and try on the Lands End things. The few I have tried on before have just not been cute, but maybe I need to try a bunch to find one that works. Oh, for the days of just galavanting around in my bikini without a care in the world.... And popcorn is healthy! Lots of fiber!

That is a very good point and thank you for reminding me of that. I am already at least 10 pounds lighter than I was last summer, and I need to focus on the positives instead of the negatives. I am in my size 8s and even though I am not in my 6s yet I still don't look too shabby. I am so hard on myself when it comes to my body. I just really really hate bathing suits. With my 34A nonexistant boobs I feel like the rest of my body needs to be perfect to make up for the lack of cleavage and to make me look more proportioned. I feel like my body should be willowy to match my tiny chest and it just isn't. I was a competitive gymnast from age 5 through high school and my legs are thick. I want those awesome runners legs. Maybe one day - I will just keep plugging away.
