Last night i was watching the news and they did a segment about Rock Christian Music. I do like this type of worship......What about you do you prefer the old time hymns or gospel or do you like the modern day contemporary Christian music?
They had a strange thing here in a couple of the Episcopalian churches where they play music by U2 during the Eucharist. I thought that was kind of strange. They even called it
an U2charist. I'M SERIOUS!!

I really like it all. I attend a small country church (35-40 people any given Sunday), and we sing the old hymns. A few of us do specials as a "choir" for special occasions and sing contemporary Christian music. Since then, we've started to sing a few contemporary songs during worship services. During our revival, the music group sang gospel beautifully. And, I love contemporary Christian rock! (Jodie, former lead guitarist of the Newsboys graduated from my high school - in either my brother's or my DH's class - I can't remember). Anyways, I pretty much like it all and have CDs of it all. Just depends on my mood, I guess!

Well I grew up on very traditional music, so that seems more like what I like at church. BUt my dd and her friends listen to a lot of the contemporary christian stuff and I like a lot of that too for "listening". One of my favorite current songs on my ipod is "I can only imagine". God I love that song!!!!!

I like some of the pop style songs, but I don't really know much about any of the newer contemporary groups. I'm more the Michael W. Smith, Ray Boltz, Carman, etc. type of gal. I'm sure there is some I'd like of it, but I like the southern gospel...which is more the "country" Christian music. I do love "I Can Only Imagine" and a few others. As for the "metal" style contemporary Christian music...no thanks. I've never liked metal or hard rock secular music...if I can't understand what they're saying, the song has absolutely no meaning for me.
Stephanie sent me SEVERAL CD's of contemporary music and I really like most of those songs...they are some of the older artists. I keep them at my desk so I can listen and sometimes put them in the car.

I enjoy the pop/modern Christian music. I used to sing on the worship team at church, and a few of the ladies and I put together our own little Point of Grace group and sang their songs at special events. It was so much fun! I don't care for the hymns very much, and that's mostly because those reach the pit of my stomach and really make me cry. Reminds me of too many funerals.

I just love to praise God whether it's praise music or a hymn. It doesn't matter. Our church sings mostly praise and worship music now, but we do sing some of the old hymns.

I completly agree. They have "heavy metal" Christian groups. I do not feel comfortable listening to them, to me it sounds like screaming.
