I need to have a consistent exercise routine. Lately going to the gym has been hit and miss, and that needs to change.
Here is what I might try:

Monday: eliptical machine for 20-30 minutes. treadmill for 20-30 minutes. weight machines to work on arms.

Wednesday: stationary bike for 30-45 minutes, weight machines for legs

Friday: same as Monday

At night I will do sit ups and push ups. When my dad was in the Army he did what was called stairs (lay on your back, lift your legs up and hold them there at varying heights).

I will try and do some exercise classes. Once school starts it should be easier to stick to a routine.

What is your exercise routine?

Right now I take what I can get because I have the boys all day but in the fall it will change when we get our Y membership.

Lately I get up, eat and then around 9am I go for a run. If dh is home, I run the trail at the Y down the road or I run the neighborhood. I am averaging about 3 miles 3-4 days a week.

If dh is gone in the morning, I turn on the Ellen Show, get on the treadmill and do incline work. 2% inclines to 5 % inclines for about 3 1/2 miles.

After my runs I stretch and if I have time I do abs.

In the fall I will combine a more structured program with my running: weight training, pilates, etc through the classes at the Y

I, too, take what I can get while the kids are home for the summer. But I try and at least walk 2-4 miles 6 days a week (this week and next week will be hit or miss). I work from home so I do not get to go out and do it, so all of my miles are on the treadmill. I vary my routines on it with inclines and sprints...so I know I'm getting a decent workout. I have bad legs from my younger years...so I do what I can.

2 or 3 days a week (along with walking) - I do a total body strength training workout for about 30-45 minutes.

Once the kids go back to school I can work out a better schedule with my time...but during the summer months I get it done when I have a chance.

I've been walking 3 miles in the evening about 5 times a week. I have a gym membership but I'm saving it for when school starts. They have a daycare but I think it's too boring for my ds. He doesn't like going.

I wish I could come up with a regular routine I have been going M,W,F but I there is not enough time for all the machines I can do plus the treadmill!

Sometimes I think I should just go 5 days a week and do one day arms, another, legs and always hit the treadmill. TIME I need TIME!

I am like the others - during the summer I am just doing what I can, which for me means getting up every morning at 6:30 and walking a very hilly 4 mile loop. I have 3 different ones that I do and I just put my mp3 player on and walk right out my door within 5 minutes of waking up. I do this 6 times a week. I can do it in 50 minutes. This summer I have not done anything but cardio, but when school starts I will be doing weights too. I have to work out in the morning or I won't do it. I have a home gym and lots of videos and dvds. I am not really a gym person.

DH and I hit the gym 3-4 times a week. I cannot stand working out but it's the only way to maintain my weight at a good level, keep me in a size 5-6 and keep my blood pressure at normal levels. 8 months ago I was told by my Doc that my BP was at stroke level. That was my wake up call. I decided there was no way I was going to use the meds to control it because they made me goofy. That is my motivation for going there, but I still need him to drag me there at times because I am easily swayed into not going. =)

I do a mwf weight routine for 35 mins, then do another 25 mins on treadmil, then on tue & thur I walk for 45 mins, variying the incline & speed and do ab work. I aim for 1 hour a day. On my mwf workouts i go to a gym, and my kids are in their child care center, yes they say its boring, but oh well. On tue & thur i take them to the rec center, and they play basketball (i love it because the treadmill overlooks the bb gym) or they'll go to the supervised game room or the library. It's all in the same building, so they use the buddy system to go anywhere. My arms are finally toning up, and last night i could feel my AB muscules!!! (now i need to work on the layer of fat covering them!!!)
