I don't know about you, but I get so sick and tired and OVERWHELMED with always having to count the grams of fat, carbs, sugar, etc in everything I eat! I also put a lot of value on my pant size. Yes, I am in my pre pregnancy jeans, but they do NOT fit me the same, so now I am wondering should I go up a size or just keep plugging away and hope that ONE DAY SOON they will fit me again? Will this EVER end?
I could NEVER do a WW program because I am already obsessing about my eating habits and stature. This is just a personal preference of course, not that I am bashing WW, but I cannot weigh myself as frequently either. My weight has NEVER fluctuated all that much...so to always have to confront it on a weekly/monthly basis would put me over the top.
What do you look for when you buy foods? Do you read the labels? Do you watch what you eat? Do you have a pair of goal pants you want to put on again in a few months?

My goal pants are very different then most. My goal start out at a healthier pre pregancy weight for baby #2. It puts a different perspective then most. I don't have a set date and I don't have forever to get the weight down before I have to gain a healthy amount again.
I understand that WW is not for everyone. But thats one of the tools I am using now. Now so much the points but just writing down and keeping track of what you eat and how often you work out. It is an eye opener to realize how much I was eating and how out of control my portion sizes were.
So I look for pre portioned foods. Things like buying exactly the amount that I should be eating. Not buying the things I don't need. Cookies, candy, chips, soda I can skip the isle entirely.
As for the goal pants in a few month I am hoping to dig out the maternity pants and this time start back to working on my weight much, much sooner after the baby.

Oh believe me, I know WW can work for some people, otherwise it would not be the movement it is today. But for someone like me who is counting every little thing already, it would be put in an insane asylum!!!!

I don't really count carbs or calories anymore.I got so sick of it.It made me feel like I wasn't eating anything I wanted to and made me feel like I had to.
I have started eating breakfast thanks to christy pointing out that it is a very important meal.
So for that I have either 3/4 cup cereal(a healthy one)and 1/2 cup milk or 1/2 raisin english muffin with butter.I know I do not have much of a huge variety there! But it is a start right?
Lunch every day I have salad-
some different ones I like it-
lettuce, tomato, cukes, tiny bit of cheese and a light drizzle of dressing.
lettuce,tomato,1/4 cup kidney beans, cheese and light drizzle of dressing.
lettuce, cubed chicken, parmesan cheese and light drizzle of dressing.
lettuce, garbonzo beans, shredded carrot and light drizzle of dressing.
I have different one I like and as long as I don't eat the same one I am doing great with salad daily and am really enjoying it.The only thing is I have to have ranch only.
Dinner-
I have small portion of things unless it is veggies and then I have a big portion of that.I try two veggies every meal, meat and potato but don't always have potato and if I do I will eat a very small one or 1/2 of one and no butter just a sprinkle of garlic and pepper and sometimes a very small dallop of sour cream. Not alot.
I don't know if this helps or not.

Yes- I get very tired of keeping track of everything- then I "fall off the wagon" (kinda like right now!) and then I get tired of not losing anything and then I get back to counting and keeping track!
I do have a pair of pants that was my fave when I met DH- they almost fit! IMHO- I should be able to wear them sometime early next year comfortably (which is not too bad considering that the new year will happen in a little over 3 months!). I can fit into the size above them- really uncomfortably- but they fit! I have to work on my stomache and saddlebags more (saddlebags to get them up over and stomache so there is no muffin top!).
For the most part I read the labels (which is nice when the grocery store you go to the most has a free babysitting service!)- while shopping and before I eat the item (sometimes in helps in picking something healthier and reminding yourself the proper portion size). Sparkpeople has a decent tracker- although I would like it to figure the fat content but it does a good job. I try not to buy too many things that has any sugar and enriched as the first 3 ingredients (Heard that from Dr. Oz) and try to not buy anything with too high of fat grams. If it was not soo cheesy- I would get the Richard Simmons calorie counter thing that he had a few years ago- remember that thing- you just moved a piece of plastic to keep track of what you ate?

That is a great idea! I should incorporate that within my menu planning for the families meal each- I never thought of that! Although I admit that I am one to do menu planning so I can keep within budget and utilize the items I have on hand! Sometimes I tend to look over a few things !

it works well for that ... I hate sitting there and thinking on what to make for dinner tonight, so that is why I do a menu. I love it I know what to take out of the freezer the night before or that morning, and just go from there. and gotta love thoose left over nights.
