Just curious. I have a fear of flying. It's getting worse as I get older - not sure if it is generalized anxiety or not. Someone suggested hypnotherapy. I'm just wondering if anyone has tried it and if it worked or not.

I've never tried it, but i would love to hear other people's answers to this question. I would love to try that for my dd's anxiety issues.

It has done wonders for my niece. My niece graduated w/ a degree in culinary arts & pastry about 2 years ago. Last year she was working as a full-time european pastry chef, and she developed this horrible hand condition - dishydrodic eczema - or something like that. It was all over her hands & eventually her feet - blisters, cuts, sores - she couldn't tie her shoes or wash her hair - her fingers would just split open. And she was under enormous pressure at work as she was the only pastry chef. She went to doctors for MONTHS - they used the strongest meds for this condition - nothing. Her skin was peeling off her hands - it looked awful & she was in tears/constant pain. So we made her quit her job last November. Another month - the meds still weren't doing a thing. Then we tried hypnotherapy. Within a week, her hands started to improve. Now, she just does pastry on Sundays and she is back to school this month to start over in another profession altogether, as she can't do pastry for a living anymore. The hypnotherapy has really made it possible for her to get on with her life. Get this - the therapist also put in subliminal messages about eating right/eating less (all the steroids has caused her to gain probably 80+ pounds, and being a pastry chef, well, she eats a lot of sugar). Now she's losing weight as well. My sister can't believe the difference in her. It might not work for everyone, but it did for her!
