Came across this quote and just had to post it!!

The thing about opinions is that many people don't want to hear them unless they're exactly like theirs. I think people learn more when they're willing to listen to other people sometimes instead of thinking they're always right. So opinions can be a good thing!

I agree. Opinions can be a good thing. I know there have been a couples times ON HERE that somebody has given me an opinion I did not like, but it opened my eyes to something I needed to deal with and/or change.

There are certain people, I will admit, that I do not care what their opinion is because I do not respect them as people. I have to respect the person who is giving the opinion.

There are also times that opinions are better left to yourself for everybody's betterment. The trick is to learn when those times are. But, we are all entitled to our opinions, whether we voice them or not.

Well first off I don't see where this quote would lead you to believe that anyone was saying that opinions AREN'T a good thing.

How I interpret the quote is this... There are a lot of people who will agree with someone just because they don't want to be ganged up on. Whether they believe the opinion or not they see it better to agree and be looked at as "right" or "accepted". I think the quote tells me that it's better to have the facts and stand alone in your opinion, then to go with the masses and agree with someone because "they said".

But that's JMO

I totally agree with Claire. I am still learning when to keep my mouth shut and when to speak up.

For me, the most important thing about having an opionion is learning that it's okay that people don't agree with me.

Totally learning about what threads and posters to avoid. I tend to get mouthy sometimes.
