Do you consider your body and mind to be one entity or separate? Do you think your body and mind function separately or together? People often say "it's mind over matter" when they are encouraging someone to change the way they think so they can overcome something. Are they suggesting the frame of mind you have dictates how successful you will be, or are they saying, you need to learn how to use your mind keep your body motivated?

That's a deep question. Maybe I need another cup of coffee!

I do think the mind is INCREDIBLY powerful. I remember reading in psychology class that people with multiple personality disorder can even take on different physiologies depending on which persona they were. Some would manifest high blood pressure, other personalities would have diabetes, etc., and their other symptoms would disappear. That's pretty powerful evidence that the mind has a big control over your body.

I'm going to have to think about this one before I respond.

I usually use this thinking when I am not feeling 100% (headache, stomach ache, etc) - I try to figure out if I am really under the weather or if something else is bothering me. I try to put it out of my head and see where it takes me.

I'm studying psychology right now and it is proven that the mind and body are connected. I've proven it myself. The power of positive thinking has proven time and again that people have healed themselves. I have even willed myself (unknowingly) into panic attacks and can now will myself out of them.

Cool.

I myself have had trouble with panic attacks in the past and I do know that it's because I had repressed a lot of my worries to the back of my "mind" so to speak, and my fears came out instead as a physical reaction to anything money related. Apparently buying a house (for the first time) stressed me out a little!
