For those who believe that the Bible is God's Word, that it is infallible...

Do you believe in all of it? And why?

Please note that this is directed at a certain population. This is not aimed to be prejudicial, but rather a calmer discussion as I am tired of getting accused of being ignorant and hateful.

2 Timothy 3:16 All Scripture is given by inspiration of God, and is profitable for doctrine, for reproof, for correction, for instruction in righteousness.

I definitely believe in the Bible, but I have to use my own knowledge and critical thinking to understand where interpretation may come in. So many things, from the true timeline in Genesis (was "day" a relative term, or did it mean geological era? That could coincide with and allow the marriage of scientific fact to biblical fact) to the visions and predictions in Revelations are open to interpretation. Even translation from the original language(s) may make it skewed, and as a teen, I definitely saw holes between the King James Version and the newer versions coming out.

I believe the Bible. I believe it's God's word and it's true.

I totally believe in the whole Bible. I am just confused by people who "pick and choose" for lack of a better way to say it.

I believe in the whole Bible, that every word, although written by man was inspired by God.

Now, there are certain verses and chapters and books written for certain people... take the book of James for example, that is written to the Jews. Now, can I get a practical/spiritual lesson from that??!! YES! But taken in context it was written to the Jewish people.

I don't believe that you can pick and choose what you like and dislike about it....

I do believe in the Bible. It is a wonderful book to base your values on and so much information. If there are parts that I question, like the Genesis timeline, I figure I'll let God take care of that part and that somehow science vs. Biblical all works out. We just haven't figured it out yet. I hope that makes sense.

I also enjoy reading other Biblical areas, like the Gnostic Gospels and learning about other religions - though I am the first to admit that my knowledge is limited.

I also agree that God works so his word and many scientific interpretations are compatiable.
