and while he continued on for another 4 laps, I did two laps around our neighborhood which works out to be 2.8 miles (just shy of 3 which is 5K). In that time it took me 24 minutes and 24 seconds....that is to give you an idea of how FAST greytrunner ran her three miles!

So impressive girl!

I cannot run with my dh. His pace is so much faster and the idea of constantly running behind him does not appeal to me. I much prefer going it alone or with a friend who runs at my slow pace.

I totally am right there with you!! I think yesterday was spur of the moment and it was our way of grabbing some time together. He is only home for four days before he leaves again for the month

Yeah, dh says we should do that to spend time together too, but I don't see how him running way out in front of me is spending time together.

We do however, work out together at the gym.

Way to go. I know my dh would run with me but what to do with the kiddies! The 2 older ones can ride their bikes but dd cannot enough for us to run.
Unless we go over to the school track and the kids can play ball or something while we run around them.

Great bonding time for you too!

Sweet!! Well, I tried harder yesterday.. I alternated running & walking during my treadmill workout. I started out running for 5, then walking for 5.. and so on. My walk ended up being so much faster, too. My usual walk seemed so slow after running. I took today off from that and am anxious to try again tomorrow.

I would like to be in better shape for waterski season. That is my goal! Thanks for being so supportive and encouraging. I hope we do the same for you

Thanks so much! I ran 4 miles of hills today in 31 minutes! Part road run, part trail run! My dh ran with me and I was very proud of him! He only finished a minute behind me! One of his better runs.

By the way, I think you are doing a great job with your running!
