the way they look in a bathing suit? Yesterday I started the painful process of trying to find a bathing suit that I really feel good in. I left the store with nothing. Every year it is the same thing. I try on a hundred and end up settling on a couple that look less awful than the others. I can't ever find one that I feel really good about. I don't remember liking any of my bathing suits since I have had children. We are going to the beach at the beginning of April and then again in June and again in July. Plus I spend my summers at the pool with my kids. Why oh why after so much work to get in shape don't I like the way I look in a stupid bathing suit?

The only person I know that actually loves to prance around in her bikini is my 40 year old sister that is a size zero and works out for 2.5 hours a day. Ain't gonna happen here. Is there a happy medium? How do you get to where you are comfortable walking around in next to nothing???

I wonder the same thing. I'm going to Cancun with five friends in a few weeks and we are ALL dreading trying on suits. My husband doesn't understand while I'm still trying to lose weight and I tell him I just want to look DECENT in a bathing suit. Not perfect, not awesome, just decent!

I have not started thinking of this yet (kind of hard when I have 3-6 inches of snow falling at my house)!
It is such a hard process. I'm hoping this summer it is a bit easier now that 31lbs are gone.

I have one suit that is more flattering than most out there. It's one that has the skirt type bottom, and the top is kind of low cut (but not too revealing though) and wraps around my neck. I'm not a little person and that suit tends to hind my stomach and hips.
But overall, No I'm not happy with the way I look in other suits. I'm exercising and eating better so hopefully that improves.

I wear a size 16 & I have several swimsuits that I like on me. For a REALLY interesting photo of me in a swimsuit, you should check out my pics on my myspace...

Bathing suits are the only thing I can't find. I have every other conceivable piece of clothing that looks great on me (including bras & panties--go figure). But bathing suits practically bring me to tears.

I've never felt confident in a swimsuit. I buy pefomance swimwear like TYR or Speedo, they don't ride up on me. I end up wearing board shorts with mine. I have a good excuse because when I ski, I will get a water enema if I don't wear shorts. Last year I also wore a good covering bikini top with a swim-mini (non ski days). I'm on the boat and/or in the water most days over the summer so it is a big deal for me every year also.

I thought for sure if I ever lost 45lbs, like I have, that I would love myself in a bathing suit. Wrong! I didn't realize everything was going to start heading south....like my butt and my boobs.

I don't know, I hope I will be able to find something I can feel O.k in....plus I will probably wear shorts with it.

To answer your question...no I do not feel comfortable at all.

I have a hard time with this as well. Last year was a great summer, I felt thin (I actually was thin) and then this whole thyroid thing hit. I actually had to where a swim suit yesterday because I took my ds swimming (my work put us up at a hotel so I could be here in the morning despite the snow). I was not thrilled about having to put one on, but it is what it is. I am going to Hawaii in 71 days and I have already faced the fact that when I am on the beach, some will look better than me and some will look worse than me. Is anybody ever truly happy with what they look like? I know plenty of "thin" people and they find something wrong with themselves too.
