First, shoes and clothing
We'll start with the most important equipment you'll need. Your shoes should be running shoes. Go out and get a good pair of running specific shoes. Any running store should be able to look at your foot and gait and steer you in the right direction. Also, use these shoes for exercise only and get a new pair every 4-6 months (depending on how much you run). When you have no more cushioning in the shoe, thats when injuries occut.
