Do you lead or follow?
Do take control of a situation or wait for someone else to decide what to do?
Do you like being responsible for something and all that entails, or do you just prefer to be in the background?
Do you trust in yourself or prefer to have others help you make up your mind?

And why is it you are the way you are?

What if you don't really do either? I don't lead but I don't feel I follow either.....I'm just kinda off on my own in my own world.

I guess for me it depends on the situation. My mood, what the situation is and just overall surroundings.

I am a bit of both. Why I am this way, my dad is a leader at times and my mom is a bit of both, my DH is a leader and having kids I guess has also had me go both ways.

It's been my experience and observation that when a person shows initiative they become the target of criticism and resentment, which is maybe why so many people would rather take a back seat and not get so involved or try and take charge of things. It is quite intimidating to be the target....but over time I guess you just develop a tougher skin.

I'm definitely a leader. Some people might say "control freak." I suppose I can't argue too much - although, I am learning to delegate. And with my dh help, I've even said "NO!" a few times! For all you control freaks out there - believe it or not, there is some freedom in letting go of things! Try it!

Why am I this way? I am the oldest child in my family, and I believe firstborns tend to be strong leaders. There were always younger siblings looking up to me and with that came more responsibility.

Often, leadership opportunities are thrust upon me because I feel very comfortable giving directions and speaking in front of large groups - probably all the music/theater through school and college. Also, probably why I believe I am a good teacher.

This is me, too!!

I am a leader by nature, but I do know when to take the backseat and let someone else take care of things!

This is me too.

If it's something I know about, have done before, or am comfortable with - Watch out ~ I am a total control freak

If it's something I've not done, or have very little experience with I am more of a follower ~ but then the next time it comes up WATCH OUT!

ETA: I forgot to answer why am I the way that I am?? I really don't know. I don't like to disappoint others or do less than they expect. By sitting back the first time I do something and learning from the experience it then gives me an example to follow ~ where the bar is set so to speak. From there I can find ways to improve, change or carry on status quo. Once I am comfortable, I like to take the lead knowing that I can help, show or teach others what I know.

I like to lead and be lead. Its a perfect balance. I feel as though I will speak up if I'm in my realm, but I really hate to get waaaaay in over my head.
