This thread is inspired by the fact that I did a bunch of spring cleaning yesterday. Boy did I find some things hidden in my closet that I totally forgot I had. That brought back some memories. Some happy, some sad.

Take for example my just-had-a-baby pair of pants that are not maternity but not my real size anymore. You must have a pair of those too. Do you remember that feeling when you bought them: "oh my gosh....these are huge...I'm this big??? will I ever be the same?". I remember the fear I had when I HAD to buy them so I could put something on my body that would fit. Looking back I am RELIEVED and very happy to be packing those up for goodwill!

I also found a dress I bought in the middle east. Dh was stationed there unaccompanied for a year. I went to see him six months into his tour there and stayed with him for a couple of months. WHile there we went to a Bahraini mall. In the mall there was this store that had one woman's collection of one of a kind dresses. The one in the window really caught my eye. Dh and I went in. I tried it on...and LOVED it. He bought it for me (He never does stuff like that). I found it in the closet yesterday. I tried it on. I am not the size I was then, but I still remember that day and it reminds me of how beautiful the middle east truly is. I am keeping that one.

I also got to throw away 3 pairs of dress pants that are too big....HAPPY DANCE, HAPPY DANCE.

It was nice to go down memory lane with my clothes. Have you ever done that? Do you hold onto clothes for sentimental value? Or are you ok with letting them go?

I have a bunch of my pre noah clothes I know I will never probally fit in the pants again cause my hips grew alot. I keep clothes that have meaning. My mom saved clothes from when I was growing up besides like baby clothes just things that were my favorites and stuff. In fact right now I am wearing a goofy Bahamas shirt my best friend got me when we were in 10th grade. This shirt has alot of memories for me. I guess it just depends. Some day I hope to fit in my old clothes but if not thats ok too. I was a stick back then.

As I'm reading your story, I'm hoping you didn't get rid of that dress!

I don't have anything that sentimental, other than my wedding dress. Some of my clothes do have memories. However, I purge so often that I don't come across much of interest. I got rid of my post partum fat shorts last year..that was liberating I hope to do a purge in the fall.

I have my high school graduation dress. It's completely outdated and no one would ever buy it anyway if I donated it but I still love it! And I have a dress from New Years, probably 12 years ago. It's still pretty cute.

It didn't take me long to realize that I will never fit into my pre child clothes. I was a size 3 and 5 (depending on the brand) and I have stayed steady 8 since I had my second child 4 1/2 years ago. I'm not one to keep clothes thinking I may someday fit in it. I figure if I get back into tip-top shape again I WILL deserve new clothes.

About 6-9 months ago I went through my closet -- since I had lost 31lbs. Boy was that fun trying all my "old" clothes on and remembering a time when they fit me and the last time I wore them. That felt good to purge like that!
None of my clothes are sentimental except my wedding dress.
