To you. Do you have a specific instance where this proved to be true?

I think that for it to be true, you need to do things with pure and heartfelt intentions. Everyday I try to live by this rule and I am a true believer in Karma...are you?

"What people do is their Karma...how you react is yours"

I do think "positive" breads positive and our good actions most often create a domino effect with others. Any heartfelt kindness and goodness can be contagious, but there are always some people that ruin the cycle.

I've actually felt that some people (through their negative reactions to my goodness) feel threatened by kindness as if I were up to something or had ulterior motives. This has happened when I had done something so out of the ordinary or out of my way. I guess this happens with people who have been really hurt in the past and are not trusting that anyone would ever do anything kind or nice for no reason, expecting nothing in return.

Getting back to your original post, though...yes, I feel that kharma you speak of is that positive energy coming back to you.

This may sound mean but I think bad things happen to good people and good things happen to bad people--all the time. You hear about these innocent children whose parents abuse or neglect them and yet there are so many deserving, wonderful couples who can't have children. Is that karma?
I think it makes ME feel better that when I see someone who is malicious, I can say to myself that they will get their just rewards. I do believe in being good, but not for karma's sake but just for being good.

I agree, Christine. Life just happens. The good die young and the bad seem to live forever, infecting other with their poison. However, the opposite, as you said, is also true. Mother Theresa lived a long, good, generously kind life and Hitler certainly lived more than long enough to do his sick damage on the world.

Sometimes life has no explanation, but it's always better to do good. In doing so, kindness is generally infectious, more will go around.

Lately believing this is about the only thing that keeps my head above water. I just keep repeating......when it's your time, good will return...when it's your time, good will return. However, just because now isn't that time for me, doesn't mean I won't continue to good to/for/toward others. In fact, I feel absolutely terrible for not being able to do more
