With the scare I had recently thinking that I was having a heart attack and then going to the doc to find out that I have gained MORE weight in the past 4 months.... I am SO ready to lose weight and get healthy.
Its long over-due.
I have already started cutting down my portion sizes. Now I plan on introducing healthier low fat foods into my diet and I plan on doing some low pace work outs at first and eventually would love to be able to start running (goodness, I never thought that I would say that I WANTED to run).

I'm on board ladies! Count me in! LOL

Yeah! I'm so proud of you. Deciding to change is often the hardest part. Making those changes takes a close 2nd. Get the support that you need. Vent, talk, chat, confess here as much as you like. Create a ticker if you like. I find it helps keep me accountable. There are lots of free sites out there to help you track your food an exercise.

Free Diet Plans at SparkPeople
FitDay - Free Weight Loss and Diet Journal

Good eating is very much like controlled spending. You don't know where all your money goes if you don't write everything down. Most people who have been successful at long term weight loss have had two things.

1) Support (which we are here to give you)
2) A plan (which usually means tracking everything you put in your mouth, either by calories, points, or servings).

Welcome to the team! We're happy to have you.

WOW! Thank you so much! It seems so much easier to do this when you have a whole bunch of people behind you.

I made an account at Fitday (Thank you KathrynHannah ). It seems like a great site. Most of all, I LOVE, love, love that they count housework as "exercise", LOL.... Doesn't burn off many calories, but it does count!

I have a lot to learn.... I will get there!

Good for you!

For me (lost 70 lbs) it helped to break down my goals into little parts (lbs not time) and do rewards at each mini goal. I'm actually 15 less than my goal and on maintence but Loving it! I'm at a healthy weight for the first time in my life, ever.

They count everything on fitday! Look up "sexual activity" . I made the mistake of showing dh once and now I get comments of "had a workout lately??"

Don't start out too drastic, make small changes once a week and keep a weekly goal list. I keep a notebook with my workouts, music I'm currently listening to, my mood and how I sleep. Since I'm also a spin instructor I write down music that I hear that I think would be a great addition to a routine. You can do the same with music to run too and come up with your own future playlist.. a small goal to work toward.

I have heard that spin classes are so much fun. But have no idea what they are??

I agree about the music.... I love music and what better way to get yourself going, right?

About the Spinning Program, Articles and Research, Energy Zone Heart Rate Chart, Getting started with Spinning you can enter your zip here and see if a gym offers Johnny G spinning (the original). Or you can call local gyms to see if they offer cycling classes (they can't call it spinning unless it's a certified Johnny G class).

HTH!!
