My knee is killing me so I'm not walking or running this week. I feel like I'm going to gain 10lbs. It is actually stressful. I keep telling myself it will be ok I'm hoping it will be better next week.

You'll be okay!!!!! I know how you feel though, I'm out for the week (probably, but I hope just a few days) because I am having the WORST pms symptoms of my life. So I literally feel like I've turned into a blimp overnight! I guess that's more motivation for me to go when I feel better! I hope your knee gets better soon!!!

Have you gone to the dr to get it checked out?

I hope you feel better soon, remember RICE - rest, ice, compression and elevation . Taking a week off isn't going to affect your cardiovascular activity or have a significant impact on your weight. It's good to take a break every now and them, some people like to schedule a week or two off during their training cycles.

Thanks for the support ladies. I know it is not a big deal but I feel like a sloth!

Telaine, I know how you feel. It was all I had to drag myself on the treadmill last week. Sometimes you just have to skip the really bad days.

I haven't gone to the doctor. The area is very tender, it hurts like heck when my 2 year old puts her elbow on it, which seems to happen several times a day. I had pain in my knees when I first started running but it wasn't like this. I should probably have it checked but my husband is so busy at work and I don't want to take my girls in the germy doctor's office with me. I'd rather live with a bum knee than two sick kids.. lol.

I hope your knee gets better. I think it's good to take breaks.

According to my internet research, it seems that I've injured the MCL. I'm going to try to get an evening doctor appt.

It will be ok - you need to take this time so your knee heals otherwise you'll be out for a long time! Just pay extra attention to your eating and maybe go a bit lighter. Hope the knee feels better

Thanks Debi. The doctor's office was closed so I didn't get an appt. I'm just going to try resting it for a few more days.

How is your knee doing now? If it keeps hurting you could try aquajogging, if you have a pool close by. You wear a special vest that keeps you upright and then you "jog" in the water. It's used for physical therapy in a lot of cases, like stress fractures, strains, etc.
