I have problems with arthritis in my knees and hips. It take Glucosamain and fish oil as well as tylenol arthritis. I also sleep with my legs on a pillow. It all helps, but I am wondering if I can be doing anything else. The dr says my next step is hip and knee replacements, but it is not that bad yet. I cannot lay in bed or in any one position for too long or my joints will start to ache. What do you do?

My mother struggles with arthritis in her hands and spine. She does the same as you, except I don't recall what she takes for pain, it's not Tylenol...maybe Aleve? They're just kinda short term fixes - unfortunately. Dh's uncle got 'bee sting therapy' for his arthritis in his spine. Can you imagine? He said it's amazing, but it REALLY helps.

I'm told the type of glucosamine makes a difference. My sister has had had knee surgery & will need replacement as a next step. Her doctor told her to use a brand called Dona that she can only find at Walgreens. My DH just had knee/arthritis surgery, and is in physical therapy right now. His doctor told him to use the brand Cosamine DS which is about twice the price of the Costco glucosamine we've been using. We're going to try that once we finish up the type we have now.

My mom started step arobics and it is helping the arthritus in her knees. It is not completely gone, but they are not hurting near as bad when she does her step arobics regularly, weird, but she says it all the time, so it must be true.
