As you know, it's HOT here!! HOT< HOT HOT. I've had a hard time getting outdoors to run anymore, so I have had to result in running on the dreadmill. Well yesterday it was a little overcast with a slight head wind so I thought "let's give it a go". On average I've been running up to 5 1/2 miles on the dreadmill and I'm so wanting to test this distance outside....just to be sure that I can indeed run it both in and outside!! Well yesterday at lap 2, three miles, I was burning up too bad. It's still humid here and it was really doing a number on me. So I ran three miles outside and then went in and ran another three on the dreadmill.

I really want to be able to run these longer distances outside and living here in the midwest makes it so hard on a runner. The only nice season we have is fall and a short spring time when it's comfortable enough to run outside. Unless of course we get up before the roosters and run in the morning....which I have wanted to do and just can't motivate myself to do just yet!

ugh!

You should probably just PM me.. LOL! We usually don't get any other replies about running.

It is awesome that you ran another 3 miles inside after running in the heat

I know how you feel about running on the dreadmill. It is so boring. However, it is better than running in the heat & humidity.

Every once in awhile Lamby (Lisa) chimes in!

Yah, running the three miles on the dreadmill after running outside was tough.
I do have a question though: How accurate do you think the dreadmill mileage is? It takes me 2 1/5 minutes LONGER to run the same distance outside.

Maybe it depends on your treadmill. I don't think mine is accurate. I run faster and longer outside. The first time I ran outside I couldn't believe my time compared to the treadmill.
