How long does it take you to fully recover from your panic attacks.

I probably have 6 panic attacks a year. Usually two in a row. Usually after I have 2-3 nights of not being able to sleep.

After the 2nd panic attack it usually takes me about a week to fully recover from the full episode. And during that week of "recovery" I am just wasted tired with some light headed-ness and light dizziness.

Usually in the morning I am dragging butt, feel really sleepy around noon, then from 3-6pm I feel good, only to crash out at 6pm. I can barely keep my eyes open to 8pm.

I do find that when I am eating right and working out regularly my panic attacks are kept at bay. But I had my DD 15 months ago and just haven't been able to get back on track diet wise or working out.

I had 3 nights of not being able to sleep this past week, followed by a panic attack on Tuesday night and another one on Thursday night. Then the last two nights I am in bed asleep by 830pm and knocked out until about 7am. But even with 1.5-2 hour naps each day, I am still exhausted by 6pm.

What do you do to get through it all? What do you do get yourself back on track? I am a big natural herb healing believer, so any suggestions on herbs/supplements to take would be greatly appreciated.

Right now I am taking Chamomile Calm by Herbs for Kids throughout the day to help me sleep at night. I also drink a greens drink at night with some Flax Oil. I also take an organic Women's Multi Vitamin and some acidophilus daily. I have also been taking something called Gink Gold daily (to help with my painful periods) and Echinacea (I had bronchitis for 3 weeks prior to my insomnia).

I have also had issues with my Thyroid in the past which I healed through herbs/supplements, change in diet and exercise. Like I said before, when I was doing all the right stuff, my anxiety attacks were very minimal. But now that I have gotten off track....

So I know part of the answer for me is to get back on track, but it's really hard when I am so tired all the time and my body feels like it is giving out on me.

Thanks in advance!

I suggest you have your thyroid checked again. Pregnancy and childbirth can adjust your levels. You should have an arrhythmia monitor fitted to check for irregular rhythm. Cut out your caffiene, and check you iron levels too. pm if ypu like.

ITA with the cutting back on caffeine. That stuff is EVIL if you have anxiety problems.

I have anxiety but I don't have issues with caffeine, however I am also not having them as frequently as you so you may want to watch how much you intake.

Have you tried yoga or some form of meditation? If I don't give myself some time in the day to let me thoughts just leave me, than I too get anxious.

I just had my TSH levels checked about a month ago, before I got sick with bronchitis. It took me a month to finally get rid of that ugly virus!

2.97 which is a great level for me. I felt great at the time, then the bronchitis hit.

I sent a message to my nutritionist/herbalist to see what she thinks. DH and I figure that since I was sick for so long, my body is just tired from battling it all and that my thyroid is probably tired from battling it as well.

I don't drink much caffeine. I drink all natural rootbeer, juice, and water for the most part. I will on a rare occasion have a coke if we are out. I probably drink coffee about 4 times a month. And iced tea about once a week.

And since I am allergic to chocolate, I rarely eat any of it.

Make sure you don't have Mono. I had similar symptoms and went to the doctor and found out that is what was causing the crazy symptoms.

I would think if you are having six panic attacks a year, you really need some other types of medication. Clearly it is not being controlled by that you are doing currently. I would really recommend talking to your doctor if you can't figure out a way to get the number closer to zero attacks a year! Especially considering how much it wipes you out.

I second seeing your doctor. I don't have panic attacks, but I do have enough anxiety that my gyn put me on an anti-anxiety med. It did wonders!

Dh has anxiety/panic attacks, though they are not as severe as what yours sounds like. Very sorry you're going through that! His doctor prescribed Xanax for him, and it works great.
