What kind of shoes do you use for running?

I need different shoes. The ones I have are 1/2 size too small. They're not uncomfortable but, when I run my feet slide forward a tiny bit, and it puts my toes right at the end.

I found an old Shape Magazine I was looking for that gives suggestions of shoes for different kinds of running, and if you're an over-pronator (or whatever it's called).
If I buy a pair they suggest, I'll be spending $90-$95

I don't think I've ever spent that much on myself at one time

I have a pair of Nike that I spent $90 on. It is definately worth the investment to get fitted at a running store. I found out that you should wear a larger size running shoe than your regular shoe. This helped me a lot with comfort. My next pair will likely be New Balance as they are wider in the ball of the foot and I have a neuroma that acts up from time to time.

What you can do is go to a running store and get fitted for the proper shoe. Then go look online. You can usually find really good deals online. Right now I have ASICS Gel Foundation 8 and I found them online for $75, in the regular store they run $90-$95. Paying that price for a pair of running shoes (if you are serious about running) is definitely worth it.

I overpronate and these ASICS, I am finding, are really good for me. If you are an overpronator, you can always try a cross training shoe too. They have alot of support and cushion. My NB shoes were cross training shoes and they worked well. Better for shorter distances though, like up to 5-6, when I ran 1/2 marathons, I think I would've done better with a different shoe.

The shoe size depends on what shoes you are buying. I have had Nike and they run large so I was getting a 7-1/2, with the New Balance I had to wear a size 8 and with the ASICS an 8-1/2. So it just depends on the shoe as to what size you need.

HTH!
