I find that when I run more, I need more fuel. I tend to turn towards pasta for that. It does help give me something extra to burn off, that is for sure!

What foods do you eat to give you that extra fuel for your workouts or to get you through the day?

On my cardio days I do find that I am craving those carbs too. On my strength training days I am more into the protein.

If you are looking for more energy for when you are running, I would try eating oatmeal....it always gives me a boost and I am surprised by how much longer I can go after I eat that.

You mean other than coffee?

Blueberries
Almonds
Low sodium turkey meat
Eggs (hard boiled or scrambled)
Banana with peanut butter

I find bread or pasta makes me sleepy and slows me down.

Really? I can't stand the stuff. It has the consistency of vomit. I can't even gag it down. To each his own. I eat lots of other strange foods that many others would find revolting.
