My hair appointment is next week and typically in the fall I go a little darker and add some red low lights....but I am still thinking I want to do something different.

Do you dye your hair a shade or two darker for fall?

I usually do but I am having a hard time letting the blond go this year.

SO glad you asked this! In the shower just this morning I was wondering what to do!! I want to get mine colored before we go home for Thanksgiving, but I still want highlights!! I have naturally medium brown hair, with a hint of natural red highlights. I was thinking of asking her to do a little more red with the blonde in order to "winterize" me! LOL

Yep-just dyed and cut my hair this week. I went fairly dark(close to my natural color) and got some copper highlights in my hair for the winter.

I dye my hair auburn in the spring and summer and dark brown in the fall and winter. Because I still have the auburn underneath, my dark brown ends up having red undertones. If I don't go darker for half the year, the color gets too brassy, so I have to even it out.
I've been doing it for so long that most people just assume my color is natural and my hair lightens to auburn from the sun (my natural color is very dark brown and I'm greying around my crown)

I have never dyed my hair, but it is darker in the winter. In the summer it gets really, really blonde from the sun. In the winter it gets to be a bit of a darker blonde.
