Well I guess if a person wants to smoke and eat unhealthy and not go for regular check-ups that is their right to slowly kill themselves.

But as a former employer, when an employee calls in sick and you have to shuffle other people around to fill their job, it does get very aggravating. So I do understand where they are comming.

I guess I would be considered a "critic". If I choose NOT to get screened I will be charged? Sounds like someone thinks they know whats better for me than I do. IMO I'm not surprised that it's started by state GOVERNMENT

I agree with that, however....in my office I am the most overweight
and my boss is a smoker. We are ALWAYS at work, never
sick more than 2 times per year. We both have 1 checkup with our
doctors yearly. Neither of us have any health problems.

On the other hand,
We have a hypochondriac who is out about 50 times a year (I am
not exaggerating!) but she does not smoke and is only slightly
overweight. She is hospitalized for small things about 6 times
per year and her whole family is just like her. She spends about
a thousand bucks a month in meds. Its ridiculous!!!

So my boss and I pay more, and she pays less and drains the
system.

At some point they are going to charge everyone, I think this is
just a way to ease into it.
