Do you also pray before meals when you're in restaurants?

How about when you have guests over who usually don't pray before they eat and start eating before you get the chance?

Yes we pray before our meals in restaurants, very quietly.

Most of our friends and family know that we always pray before every meal, but if they start eating before we do, we just say "now we will say a blessing for our food" and then pray.

We never make a big deal out of them starting before we pray.

That's what we do too. One of DD's friends that eats over a lot has started reciting our dinner prayer too.

We also pray before every meal. I'll admit that we have slipped up a few times while in restaurants and forgot to pray , but it usually doesn't matter where we are or who we are with...we pray.
My kids enjoy praying, so we usually have them do it while we are out. It makes them feel special. Sometimes they fight over who gets to do it

I hate it when people do that when they are out to dinner with us. I have no problem if they pray before a meal in their home and we are there - we will bow our heads and wait respectfully. In our home, we will ask them if they want to pray before a meal, and we will wait quietly. But it bothers me if they do it at a restaurant. I see no reason why they can't just do it in their heads while adding salt or something. Especially if we start to eat and then they start praying. It is extremely awkward. When that has happened, we have never eaten with those people in a restaurant again.

I know exactly how you feel!

We pray at home but when we are out, we quietly pray to ourselves, especially when we are with company (yes I say a little pray while I am "prepping" my food).

BTW- when we have company over, we don't pray outloud unless they hold the same view as us (DD's best friend is muslim and we refrain from praying outloud when she is visiting out of respect to her religion!).

We pray out loud at home and all our guests know that we pray, so no one is ever shocked or anything. At restaurants, DH and I simply hold hands, bow our heads and offfer a silent prayer. We do this when we're out, just the two of us, or in a large group. Sometimes others in our group will want to pray with us and other times they'll just keep talking, either way is fine with us. We couldn't be Christians in this area if we were easily offended

We pray before meals, if someone is over at our house or out to dinner with us that does not share our religious beliefs we will just say a silent prayer to ourselves if it offends them. We do pray in public, though it is usually very quiet, we don't make a scene out of it.
