Just wondering cause I can't recycle mine w/ our garbage co. and I hate to throw it away (more trash). It would save $ too.

You can compost it.

This isn't necessarily greener, but is a huge $ saver over regular cat litter. My poor kitty had a wound on his paw that was not healing. I used to buy the kind with blue crystals, which is probably all chemicals. Someone at work recommended Feline Kitty, a litter made of large pine pellets that would not irritate his skin. I bought it at Wal Mart...it was $7 for a tiny bag (MAYBE a one week supply). Then I read online that Feline Kiity is just wood pellets ( the kind made for pellet stoves), that is scented with pine. I bought 40 pounds of wood pellets at Home Depot for under $6. This stuff has no odor at all. I compared the pellets side by side and the only difference I can see is the one marketed as kitty litter is "shinier"

I use it instead of packing peanuts when shipping items. Also when I store my Christmas breakables.

you can use it for the bottoms of bird cages ( we use to do so with birds we had). bunny cages. packing for parcels. dh takes ours to work and they use it there for packing parcels to ship out. and our recycling does take it with the papers.
