We have 3 clothes baskets. One in each of the kids rooms in their closet and one in mine and dh room in our closet. I finally have the kids putting their dirty clothes into their hampers and then bringing them into the laundry room when their full so that I can wash them. On the other hand though dh is proving to be a big problem! He drives me crazy when it comes to laundry. This man has dirty clothes every where but the dirty clothes hamper (the bathroom, bedroom floor, living room, hanging off the back of chairs etc.) I told him the other day that if he doesnt start putting his dirty clothes in the hamper hes not going to have any to wear b/c anything I find on the floor or anywhere else besides the hamper is going out w/ the trash!!! Seriously though, I think its a little ridiculous that children 3 and 6 are capable of putting clothes in the hamper but a grown adult cant seem to do that. MEN!!!

We have 4 hampers, one in every bedroom closet. I do a load or 2 of laundry a day. Having one in each kids bedroom works the best for us.

I use the pop-up mesh hampers. I have two in the closet in our bedroom and one folded in the laundry room. Also in the laundry room I have a clothes rack on wheels with 3 fabric bins at the bottom (I really can't describe it very well but I got it at Walmart a few years ago). It looks similar to this but mine only has the mesh laundry bags and one long bar across the top: http://www.walmart.com/catalog/produ...uct_id=2160521
It works out great for us. I bring down the hampers from upstairs and sort the laundry into the three bags on the rack and do the wash as they fill up.

We have a hamper in the bedroom. I found a color to match the room and it fits in the corner. We don't have a laundry room so we have no other choice.

My washer and dryer are in my kitchen (no I don't like it there, convenient yes, but ugly!) My dream home (or home improvement) would include and upstairs laundry room. I have a hamper by the washer. A pop up one in the boys room and a laundry basket in the bathroom. I do laundry constantly. I have yet to come up with a good system. I do like the idea of putting a basket on the closet floor, but where would my shoes go???? I have to much "stuff" to ever have a good system I think.....

Morrismomaof2 - your husband must be talking to mine! He puts his on the dining room table, among other places. Or right next to the basket, instead of in it! :furious:

I have laundry baskets, small ones, one in the kitchen and one in the master bathroom, where we all bathe. Then I have 3 hampers for sorting in the garage, where my washer is. I don't know how, but we accumulate a TON of laundry for 4 people. I have been trying to do it every day now. I find that by keeping the loads smaller, I am able to fold them and put them away better. When I would do a bunch of big loads, something always came up and I'd have piles and piles of clean unfolded laundry everywhere. Then they'd all pick through it looking for their clothes.

Our laundry room is on the main floor and our bedrooms are upstairs, so I have a hamper in our room and the boys' room. I take a basket of clothes up to put away and I fill it with the dirty clothes from the hampers on my way down. It works pretty well and doesn't cause me any extra work.

Riley has a hamper in her room but we do not. Our laundry room is upstairs right next to our bedroom, so as soon as we take off our clothes, I just toss them in a big pile in the laundry room. I LOVE having a laundry room upstairs. It is so convenient.
