I vacuumed the carpets today.

Three rooms are wall to wall carpet and there are three large rugs in other rooms with hardwood floors. It took me about 26 minutes to do it all. It is nice to know that when it is time to vacuum, I can just vacuum. There isn't a whole lot of pre-vacuuming prep work involved in a clutter free house. Approximately 4 of the 26 minutes were allotted to picking up toys, moving dd's small table in the office that she colors on, and moving chairs from under the dining table. Nice.

Now I am considering dusting as well...since I have so much extra time on my hands living in a less cluttered house.

That shouldn't take me long either, since most of my surfaces are clear.

That is so true! I find even my mind is more 'clutter free' when my house is free of clutter. I can think more clearly. Household chores are so much easier when there isn't a lot to move and it's easy to find the few cleaning products that you need.

Switching over to a simple life was a long process for me. It was really hard to let go of all that stuff. I am a pack rat by nature and I use to shop as a hobby. Now that I am living the simple life, it is so much more peaceful and relaxing!

Switching over has been gradual for me as well, but it has been well worth it. It is very true that even your mind is less cluttered in a simpler environment.

I am now finding that I have the time to do things I enjoy rather than constantly cleaning/dusting or organizing and reorganizing masses of stuff that were always weighing heavily on my mind. I would sit awake at night and think of ways to reconfigure closets and storage spaces so I could fit more stuff in! It's crazy to me now, but not that long ago...

I get better every single day and know I will maintain the simple lifestyle when I finally attain my idea of "simple perfection".

Reorganizing masses of stuff- yeah, that's been me for far too long. Although I was decluttering all the while, I was still bringing loads of fresh new stuff into the house. I was a hamster on a treadmill.

So- I'm not quite up to your level yet but hope to get there some day. It sounds wonderful!
