I also love freecycle! It's become my favorite way of decluttering. I too have gotten a couple of nice things (bread machine, nice cannister set I wanted) from there.

I really don't know how the freecycle thing works. Sometimes I feel like I'm behind times. It sounds like a good idea for some but if I think about something too much I might end up keeping it or sometimes I have to sneak some toys past the boys and they never miss them that way. I've had yard sales in the past but usually after all is said and done it wasn't worth it. Last year I had one and sent my boys to their grandparents which I hardly ever do. My youngest has asthma and we had to rush to get him because my mother in law let him run outside without a shirt and shoes all day which I never do. The next day at home he was fine. As of last year I have vowed that I will no longer mess with yard sales because it's a pain in the butt. If I were to tell my family that I have stuff to give them if they wanted it to come get it they wouldn't. Except for one sister that lives in squalor and I don't mean that being rude. She would take it all only to hoard it in boxes so the mice will chew it up. yuck!!! Even If I didn't tell her my mom would because they are super close. My other sister wouldn't come because she acts high class and doesn't want to seem like she would take hand outs. Although I've given stuff to her and she has used it and her daughters love my clothes too it's just that if she has something that she doesn't want anymore she will try to sell it to me and if I didn't buy it she would give it to someone else. That hurts. That's why I know it's better for me to just put it in black bags that I can't see thru and change my mind and just get it out of my house. I need the room as I have no shed for storage. Getting it out fast frees me but sometimes I struggle with guilt. I want to thank ya'll for the advice. I'm going to take baby steps to just get it out of the house.

You can visit www.freecycle.org to learn more about it. You end up joining a Yahoo Message Board Group with people who live in your area. Then you can start giving and receiving items. The lady who owns this site actually recommends Freecycle in her book.
