Congrats on getting rid of fat clothes!

I have about 1/2 dozen of each type of l/s shirts, s/s shirts/pants/shorts. I purge every season. If I didn't wear it last season it is outta here.

Lands End overstocks is great.

I have way too many I know but am not paring down too much yet. I have a lot of winter sweaters and such but since I work in a very upscale office, more clothing is required than if I worked somewhere else or stayed home. But I am still doing some paring down. Espcially of my non work clothes. I only have 2 days a week I wear them so why do I have so many!?

I pared down my clothes about 6 months ago and I need to do it again (I think they're multiplying in the closet. ) The thing that helped me let stuff go was to do the "keep 1 toss 2" thing. I saw it on Clean Sweep. I kept the things I knew I'd wear and got rid of other stuff. Since then I've had clothes given to me and it seems more just came out of the woodwork. I have too many. If I got rid of 3/4 of my clothes, I'd be fine. I want to get some basics and just stick with them. Khaki's, black pants, a few dress outfits, jeans (without holes in them!), some basic shirts -- all stuff that can be mixed and matched to everything else. I keep dreaming of going on "what not to wear" so they can throw out all my stuff and i can start over with a brand new fresh basic wardrobe of GOOD QUALITY things. Sure, I'm one that likes to shop at the Goodwill, but I'm starting to think quality over quantity when it comes to my clothing.

Gosh, I wish I could do this. I have a closet full of clothes and I am a stay at home mom. Really no reason to have all this stuff, but I do. I usually wear the same things all the time to. I guess I need to consider the clean out, but I never have the heart. I still have about 12 suits in my closet from when I did work. Maybe it is time to let go, but I keep thinking...what if I need them. I occasionally wear my suits when we do go to dress up events...

I too have too many clothes...I need to find the time and the motivation to get this done & completed.
I agree with having about 3 pairs of jeans and a nice outfits for work or whatever (Im work full time).
But I have way too much and I dont even wear half of them in a week. I can probably not do laundry for 2 months and Id still have enough to wear - including underwear!

My down fall was seeing clothes on sale and seeing that the price was way too good to pass up. I now have ended that shopping style. I now tell myself I have enough clothes and I dont need more, or my closet will break. (which it did once)

Their is an every changing line between having to many cloths and not enough cloths. You are really not saving money if you only have enough cloths to make it for a few days because then you have to turn around and wash them (detergent and water cost $) and then it wears out your cloths from wearing and washing so much regardless of what brand you buy. Also it is nice to look good for your husband and yourself by wearing different things. Personally I own about 4 skirts/dresses 10 pair of pants (everything from jeans, dress pants, and warm up pants) and about 25 shirts/sweaters/tanks (that can almost all be mixed and matched) I wear them all at some point in time during the year. I don't buy new things often because I have so much variety at home. Also if the week is tight on time I don't feel pressure to get all the laundry done. If baby spits up, someone spills their milk on me, or someone didn't tell me they had to go potty until it was to late and now we are both wet. No big deal.

I have way too many. But this comes from getting all my mother's hand me downs. I am 37 and still get tons of clothes from her, because we are the same size. She buys them and only wears them a few times. I have two new coats from her that I have multiple compliments on because they thought I bought them new. I told my mom and she says "Ok I want them back then, hehehe" Anyways, I have just started going through my closet to get rid of all the clothes. I am bringing them to the consignment store. Whatever I get from the store, I use to buy myself something. Whatever doesn't sell, I leave for them to donate. Therefore I don't have to deal with it. I figure if I do this at least once a month, I should consistently have money coming in from the store.

Ok I have to confess--I could open my own store!!!!! My daughter and I wear the same size even shoes, shes always wanting and then not liking once we get home--so its mine!!!!! I am new here and realy hope to learn to cut down -- this is difficult for me--I overbuy for my 2 daughters and granddaughter they could probably go 2 months or more without wearing the same outfit!!OUCH Before I remarried 3 yrs ago I was very frugal, then I have somehow got used to getting what they want--mostly out of guilt for not having it before--I really need to stop buying them clothes and shoes. It is sooooooo hard for me. HELP!!!!

I have way to little clothes. If I can lose weight I'd have more that fit me.

I have way to many clothes. I keep going through my closets and getting rid of stuff, but then I will go shop the clearance racks and get more clothes. I could probably go a good couple months without having to wash clothes if I really tried! YIKES!

I wish that I could have about 1 week off, not go anywhere at all and just clean my house!
