Valentines Day- great opportunity to spend a lot of money quickly... flowers, a nice meal out... adds up fast.

So let's share our best ideas for a simple but great Valentine's Day.

One of my favorites-

We don't eat out, but for V-Day I will buy dh's favorite, NY strip steak, and we will have a really nice dinner after the kids are in bed. The steak isn't cheap, but it's a fraction of the cost of a restaurant meal. Also, the "restaurant" isn't too crowded or noisy and we can walk there

LOL Cute idea!

In the past I have made a Valentine Coupon Book by cutting 5-7 red hearts out of cardstock, then gluing smaller white hearts in the center which have certain things printed on them. For example:

~ The cover says (in a fancy font) Valentine's Day - Coupons De Amore

~ Meal of your choice

~ Back Rub!

~ 2 Hours Home Alone!

~ No Request Weekend

~ No Diaper-Changing Weekend!

etc... I hole punch the hearts, put a silver hoop ring and decorate with a red ribbon. The kids make a version of their own.

Those are great ideas! Dh and I really don't celebrate valentines day, I've never really been into it, besides it would hardly be fair to dh since my b-day is 3 days later!

But I always try to think of something fun for us to do and I'll usually get him a funny card or something. I usually use it as a chance to do something "exciting" and maybe will buy something from Victorias Secret!
