I thought going to a walk in hair cutting place would be simple and frugal.... don't have to make an appointment- can even go in the evenings.

But as it turned out- it was a mistake for me with the kind of hair I have.

I'd have to say that was a good idea that backfired...

I did the same thing with my ds. It was one of the worst haircuts.

When I was first married I knew nothing about housework, laundry ect. we lived in Japan and I was on my own. My dh was in the Navy and his socks would get so stained. So I decided to bleach them. I put them in a bucket with lots of bleach and water. I thought the longer I soaked them the better. I washed them up packed them for him and he was off to sea. Well when he went to put then on his foot went right through them. He had to wear them until I could send new ones in a care package. We still get a big kick out of that story.

I made the same haircut mistake a few weeks ago by taking my ds to Great Clips to take advantage of thier 5.99 haircut sale. The poor girl only cut his bangs. I had to come home and give him a haircut myself just like always. So from now on, i will cut my boys' hair.

When my cousin was about to graduate cosmetology school, I made the mistake of letting her cut my hair. She took a huge chunk out of my shoulder length hair. It was so bad, I ended up having to cut my hair about five inches long all the way around. It was the worst hair cut I've ever had in my life. I joke with her now about it, but I still don't let her cut my hair and she's been practicing for about 2 years now.

Like 10 years ago, I used to do the acrylic nails...the long ones...*cringing* So I went to the beauty college which everyone had recommended wanting to save $ and still look fly . Well this was the girl's 1st time doing the acrylics and they came out so lumpy and horrible...it looked like i had playdough stuck on the ends of my fingers. I felt like crying but there was a thing you sign that you realize they are students, etc, etc..so in the car I was literally prying them off. My real fingernails underneath were bleeding!
