Our house is 2500 square ft. and there are 5 of us. We are thinking we would like to have another child in the next yr. or two, but I think we will still be fine with space. The only reason I would move is to have a huge yard and a large front porch- my dream

I dont know about Sq. footage. I know that sounds odd, but I have never paid attention to that. We have a three bedroom home with a livingroom, diningroom, kitchen, a big 'multi purpose' room, a small foyer, and a full basement and attic. Eventually we know we will have to build on or finish the attic or basement, b/c three girls and dh and I and one bathroom is not going to work. Eventually I also think that they will all need their own room.

We are in the process of finishing our basement. When it is complete we'll have 5000+. About 1500 in the basement and 3500 for the two floors above.

We have 3000+ on the two levels, plus we finished off our basement which is another 1000 or so.

2000. And I intend to live here the rest of my life. All the rooms are large and sometimes I wish for an office/craft room but I wont complain. We moved from a slitely larger home and dont even notice its smaller becuase of the lay out. I think even a small home can feel large if its well layed out.

2900 sq ft ranch on full basement. We don't need all of that basement space but it is great to have so the kids can play down there in the winter. The house was 1800 sq ft and we added on 1.5 years ago. We are paying as much extra on our mortgage as we can to hopefully pay it off in ten years.

I think I beat all of you--there's 5 of us in a one bedroom condo--less than 800 sq feet. My 16 yr old sleeps in the living room, our 8 mo. old sleeps in the crib in our room and our
2 1/2 yr old sleeps with us in bed. Bad, I know, and I will be asking for tips on how to get him to sleep in his own bed one day. I bought the condo when I was still a single mother not expecting to be having any more children but lo and behold, I remarried and had 2 more kids. Then the real estate prices skyrocketed and we couldn't afford anything decent around here. We will be moving soon, though because my husband is transferring and hopefully can get a 4 bedroom house on base.
It's actually not that bad--we're not sitting on top of each other or anything like that. I'm really good at eliminating things we don't need. Our room kindda looks like a page out of an IKEA catalog. I just wish we had a yard for our toddler.
