Nalgene even has a toddler bottle called the grip and gulp. Awesome for the diaper bag!

This is a dumb question but what part of Target do you find these in? Not just the toddler ones, but the 'regular' ones? Housewares? Baby/infant? Thanks!! I am very interested in this!

Remember my post about the lunch box system? I just today bought one for myself. I had a credit at Linens & Things. I'm really excited to use it, as I pack quite frequently. Personally I think my food is so much better than the junk you can get going out. I love going to the zoo or something and having a entirely "free" day. Can't get much better than that! Plus no waste.

I think as a suggestion it is fine, but as a mandate no. I didn't put this on my original post but I already do most of this. My dh on the other hand is like happymom, no way is he washing all those containers.

as far as feeling left out, that kid is being made to feel left out. the school should have stepped up and said they don't have to and it's ok if his family chooses not to participate.
when my kids say everyone does it, I tell them we are unique. you don't have to be like everyone else. sorry, that makes me mad!

sporting goods. and just so you know, mine have leaked. I still like them best. but they are big and don't fit in the lunch boxes. are school has asked for only pop up lids, nothing that could flick fluid. the kids flick each other with that very small amount of fluid. that's why we don't use ours for school.

I love it! If this was implemented at my daughter's school, I would do it and not complain. Right now she eats the school lunch so I don't have to worry about anything but if/when she brings her lunch, I think this will be a great idea. It will be less waste, for sure, and her lunches will be healthier. I would definitely use the throw away system and use baggies and paper and plastic for everything but if I HAD to do it this way, I would. Any inconvenience I may experience, I would soon get used to and not even notice.

Skimommy - I don't think that you're supposed to make your own yogurt. I think the intention is to buy a large container of yogurt and decant into smaller containers.

Allgirls and everyone else who's had leaky Nalgene bottles - I cut a square of plastic wrap and fit that beneath the lid before I screw it shut. Yeah, this makes a little extra waste, but it's worth it to not have juice or milk leak all over the place.

Hey! Good idea w/ the plastic wrap, I'm going to try that.

BTW: I make homemade yogart, it's awsome!

I have stuff I get from work called parafilm. it works 10x better. I have done the plastic though, the press and seal stuff is great also. thanks for mentioning. I didn't even think to type that.
