Over the years I have reduced what I have kept on my counter tops. Currently I have a microwave, my stand mixer, a metal loaf shaped bread basket, a toaster, coffee maker, butter and sugar dish, utensil crock, and a small square piece of pottery my son made to be used for a spoon rest. I wish I had room to keep my steamer and crockpot out I use them a lot but if I did I would lose half my prep space.
What's on your counters? What do you wish you had room for?

On one side of my sink on the counter there is: paper towel holder, banana stand, coffee maker, toaster, breadbox. On the other side we have a toaster oven.
So I guess we have a lot of stuff, but it's all Oak (well.. minus the electric stuff.. and looks good. So hey..

I've got a cookie jar, and coffee pot on one side. The other side I have a toaster, can opener and a cutting board.

Toaster oven, coffee maker, knife block & paper towel holder on one side and a spice rack, small sugar jar and a pepper grinder other side by the stove.
Keep in mind my kitchen is the size of a jail cell so this is all I can keep out, everything else gets put away. Will have to wait to get a bigger kitchen (right now we are just renting a townhome)
I have the microwave just outside the kitchen on a microwave cart.
Wish I had room for that beautiful blender my mom got me for Christmas.

I have a utensil crock and a microwave. The salt/pepper and sugar bowl are on top of the microwave. That's all I have out. I weeded out my appliances a few months ago and I keep the crockpot and toaster up in the cupboard. We don't drink coffee and we use an old fashioned hand crank can opener (which is in the utensil crock). Oh, I forgot - I just put a small knife block on the counter yesterday (came with my new pot set I just bought). It's very clean and clear - makes the kitchen look bigger, which is important with our extremely tiny kitchen. I wish I had a bread box, but I'm going to have my brothers build me a wooden box to put underneath the microwave with a door on the front. I don't want to lose the corner of my counter to a huge bread box that will just attract clutter and subtract space.

I wish I could say I don't have alot on my counters, but I'd be lying. The "necessities" are glass containers (4) for spaghetti, baking mix etc., toaster, utensil holder, coffee pot, trivet, beehive collection (creamer, sugar bowl, napkin holder, cookie jar (in the cupboard), a couple decorative things, cat bowl (sounds gross but otherwise the dogs eat the cat food. On top of all this, I have projects or things I have to fix, tools that haven't been put away. I know, its terrible. Also I cleaned off the top of my fridge on one of my flylady missions and left the stuff on the counter! Someone help me! FYI I have about 15-20ft. of counter space.

I unfortunately have a lot on my counters as my kitchen is tiny and I have no cabinet space. I could take the toaster off the cabinet as I rarely use it anymore but I don't have anywhere else to put it so it stays. I literally have less than 6 feet of counterspace. I can't wait to get a new house.
