Holy Cow - I went through DS's dresser and am SICK. I can't believe how many pieces of clothing he has. I haven't even hit his brother's room yet but should have the same results in there too. The child could've worn clothes for almost a month before I would have to do laundry! The thing is he only would wear a handful of the items so the other things just get pushed to the bottom or wadded up in the closet. HOW WASTEFUL! UGH!! I so need to do this!

that's what I do also, if it's something I'm not sure about I will hang onto it for a month and if they ask for it I'll "find" it while they're sleeping. I also tell them we have to make room for new toys for bday/xmas/etc.
I evn just started a bag for a friend who wears same size as my dd,but dd decided theyare not her favs and she can give them away.

I also don't let mine keep any happy meal type toys unless it is match box cars! LOL We keep a few in the van, just to keep them occupied, but even those get tossed everytime I vacuum it out! Those little junky toys just take up so much room and seem to spread in my house!!

I swear those things multiply in the dark!! I usually give them to the teachers for their prize chests.

Challenge update: yesterday I did my other DS's dresser and same situation there - too many clothes (how does this happen??). Today I am going to attempt the toy boxes. Wish me luck!

How is everyone else's challenges going?

Hi
I also organized two boys dressers and organized clothes for winter and such! Today I will do my oldest and my youngest dressers. Doesn't feel great !!! I am going to put labels on their drawers so they don't have any excuse on where their clothes go!!

Well today I tackled my bathroom counter and the cabinets under the sink. There was stuff just piled all over and the cabinets were a mess with things piled on top of each other. I condensed where I could, got rid of stuff I don't need, and organized the rest of the stuff. I swear I have enough shower gel/body wash to open my own store!

My update: it has taken me a full week, but I have just about finished my shelves and computer/sewing desk. I have some empty space left over!

Well, I fell off the de-clutter wagon Thurs-Sunday, so back on track today. Finally got through all the kids' toys. I have to admit it wasn't as bad as I thought, but it was not pretty either..

Today I will finish their closets - off season clothes and misc "stuff" that needs to be addressed.

My current dilema - I notice that part of the reason for the clutter or mess is that everything needs a "home". Meaning, the kids won't put things away if there isn't a clearly designated place for it to "go". I know that sounds so simple and obvious, but not everything had a clear-cut "home". So that is something I am addressing this week.

Yeah, I really do feel I am making progress!!

Good job to those who have taken up the de-clutter challenge! WE are making a difference in our homes! (and our sanity).
