I haven't forgotten! I've been busy working on the house. I'm not done going through stuff yet. Things really multiply! Where does it all come from? I like the idea of putting stuff in a box and getting rid of it in a year. But honestly I would forget in a month I've been so busy. I just got rid of some beatiful candle sconces for the wall but dh was supposed to take them to be welded 6 months ago and you know what. They are not beautiful to me broken they were litterally colleting dust and gunk so they got tossed and flung tonight. I feel so much better not looking at them and feeling bad because they needed fixed. Forget it. I'm getting pretty much to the point that I just don't want to look at stuff sitting around any longer. I 'm actually getting brave and considering flinging some books to the library. We had this notion when we were homeschooling that we would have all the books the kids needed at home. Yes, but I dont have much time to read them right now and I can always check them out at the library. I don't know what we are going to do. Some of the books we can get rid of and at least get enough room to get the books back in the shelves. We actually need about two more book shelves! The list goes on. Keep up the good work ladies!!! I'll check back in again later.

I am really trying to get back into doing this again!!! I cleaned out my little boys room this past week and I got to toss so much JUNK. I have a whole boys of my oldest sons clothes to go through and get rid of. I will probably post that on the bartering board. I have size 16-xlg stuff and a few other odd sizes in there. CLUTTER BE GONE!!!!! LOL

I cleaned out my pantry and ya know, it doesn't really look like I took that much stuff out. And then I went grocery shopping and loaded it up with some new stuff.. LOL But I am happy to say that I used a can of spaghetti sauce that had been sitting in there for what seemed like an eternity (I make my own, so I don't ever use store bought canned). HAHAHA

I would like to clean out my closet in my living room. It seems that everything that shouldn't be in it, is.

I am going to work on my kitchen cabinets and need to go through my bedroom closet. I thought with the kids in school I would have more time but it seems like I am busier than before! This second week I will be slowed down more and be able to get some sorting done. I would like to go through their rooms as well.

Yeah this sounds like fun!!!! I really really need to de-clutter a lot though. Junk-drawers, computer desk (UGH) , my closet, kids toys and spare room. Not to mention we have storage we stick things in. Would you believe we discovered an entire box of loose socks!! OMG anyways I will join the challenge... are we going to do before/after pics or what???

What next? Do we just post what we decluttered for the day or week? I was reading this book about Kitchen organization and how you need to have zones like mixing and cooking and sink. Well yesterday I went at it and got rid of some stuff and moved stuff around Woow it looks great. I love that book I would have never thought of creating zones with in the kitchen.

Such a great idea! It seems easier when you know others out there are doing it with you. One tip I have is to sort through at the laundry stage. My kids tend to wear things that they love but have outgrown. So, I wash and dry as usual, then when folding, I make a separate pile to pull out of circulation. Most times these go in a bag to go to charity (when I fill up a bag it goes in the car so it can easily be dropped off as I do other errands). Plus, the kids don't have so much stress as if I went through their drawers. They already haven't seen the item in a few days because it was in the hamper then it just never reappears!

Good luck to everyone!

I think this is a good idea - post on what your PERSONAL challenge is this week.

My personal challenge this week is to get back in the closets. I found two shirts I bought back in June that I was going to take on vacation - but didn't. There they still hang with the TAGS on. I have MANY examples (too many, I am embarrassed to say). I found the receipt and took them back! There are many, many things in my closet that I don't wear (you know those I'll lose weight and then I can wear them again clothes) so I need to just chuck 'em. I also love the laundry idea- certainly creates less problems if they don't see the item getting the ol' heave ho.

How is it going in the kitchen with your zones? PLease let us know how that is going (and what book you read!). I haven't had time yet to get in the kitchen, but it is next on my list!

Ok ladies - report in where are you decluttering this week?

I decluttered my computer desk last week, and went through the kitchen cabinents. I am going through one more section where the medicine is at. This week I am going to transfer books to a new bookshelf that I bought and go throught he cookbooks when I move them to the bookshelves as well. I am finding that if I really like a recipe that I write it down and put it into my recipe box. So I have almost stopped purchasing cookbooks and will just look through them or do an internet search or ask on here. It saves a lot of money! I'm also going to work on the top of the refrigerator. I might tone down my wooden ladder on my ceiling as well. I'm also planning on painting my picture frames to match and hanging a collage of frames up on a wall and FINALLY getting the girls pictures up no matter what plans I have for the house! I have pictures from three years back because I have something I want to do and don't want to put hem up yet, enough, I'm going to get them up and get rid of frames that I don't want or can't use. That will take a huge pile out of the bedroom! I am thinking about the garage too! Maybe that is good for next week :D
