I need help converting Daughter's playroom into an study. She currently has very few toys in her bedroom (they are all in the playroom), but lots of bookshelves and books. Both rooms are tiny, 14' x 12' with high ceilings (built in 1930).

We are getting a loft for her room, to free up space, but also want to get her a desk, which takes up some of that space. I am thinking of taking all of her books out of her bedroom and putting them in the study, then moving in toys (after some purging).

Right now, many of her toys are in stackable crates, and she has a big Barbie house that she plays with quite a bit. We have shelves with bins, and her fashion dolls are on the wall in a shoe holder.

Does anybody have any space-saving suggestions? How do you store your child's toys?

Toy rotation, Store the toys some where else, get rid of what is no longer played with. I have most of my DDs toys in the pantry. In another month I will switch those toys with the ones in her toy box. I like the storage options of furniture that doubles as storage. book shelves with waskets or cupboards, automans that lift for storage or games.
My favorite that we have done is a credensa that we have all out christmas decorations stuffed into and do one knows that the holiday stuff is in the living room year round.
