What's your Simple Pleasure today, Wednesday?

My Simple Pleasure was having Evan, my 5 yo, open the door for me this morning & extend his arm as he bent slightly, saying, "girls first, men last!" I giggled until I had tears. He is so darn cute!

What made your heart happy today?

I paid the end of the month bills, and it wasn't too bad!

We gave 3 of my boys buzz cuts last night and they looked so darn cute when they got up this morning!!!

There are times when I question some of life's choices - a house payment that we can afford but it is still a stretch. Working part time from home when I could be out making more money. Staying at home where my biggest conversation of the day is, "Do ponies really like dance class?" or "Mommy can you go get that bug? I don't like bugs." And so forth.

Today, as I worked in my back yard, and I watched my daughter chase a butterfly completely around the back yard, I suddenly remembered why we have made the choices that we have and I'm happy about them! My simple pleasure for the day!

Now I need to go check on this bug.

Ok, took the boys to their scheduled library class (that ended up bieng cancelled after we braved torrential rain -- UGH!!), and seeing the boys so at home there and interested in reading. The 9yo looked up all of his favorite subjects on the computer catalog (headless horseman & Legos ) until he found what he wanted, went to exactly the right spot and was able to find the book all by himself (YES -- he has been listening!!). The 6yo stretched on absolute tiip-toes to reach the book he wanted on the top shelf- I am so grateful they have embraced my love of reading and take pride in the fact that they can decide on and locate exactly what they want!

... and we did not have a fine when we checked out!!

When my husband came home and the kids ran up to him.

My DH and DS kissing in between every railing of the stairs when my DH came up to kiss DS goodnight.

When my husband was across the street talking to a neighbor and both the kids piled up in the window as my DS yells "HIIII!!" to him. It was so loud other people stopped to look at him and waved.

I have a ton of them today

My lonely four year old had a birthday today and for his party his cousins from Dallas drove up and his friends from Enid drove down for it. We're so blessed

My boys had a great time bonding with their cousins. My four year kissed me and thanked me for the party ~ he can be so sweet!

A friend of mine from MOMMYSAVERS emailed my son an e-card this morning for his birthday and it left a VERY lasting impression on my boys!

My dh who has an INSANELY busy work and training schedule helped me out around the house this morning in preparation for the party. At the last minute this afternoon he decided to stay for the whole thing. We had a blast with everyone here

I received a phone call from a very dear friend of mine back home telling me she is cancer free!

I ran this morning and did a much longer route than normal and finished in under thirty minutes!!!

I started out good, then my computer mouse batteries died I recharged them and then the darn mouse would not reset. I was seriously ready to throw the thing out the window. I was offline till dh came home but in that time all the kids were very helpful to me putting clothes away. Vacumming dusting and mopping! Its been so nice outside but today was not so I thought for sure they would be cranky but they had fun and I got things done.

Christy, How nice you dh was able to stay home for the party. Wonderful news about your friend being cancer free.
