How many loads of laundry did you do in a week to save $80?? I'm seriously gonna to have to do this! I think I have enough room, I'll be buying a dryong rack this weekend

For years, I never dried anything (except towels, underwear and socks) for fear of shrinking. But after I had kids, I got lazy. I hung things over shower rods, tops of doors and on backs of our dining chairs.

My HOA prohibits clotheslines too but I'm intrigued by the retractable kind. I might have to hit Big Lots.

My only complaint was that my clothes were crunchy. Any suggestions on how to deal with that?

I hang things in the bathroom on the shower curtain rod. I also have a storage rack in the laundry room that has a rod under it and it works perfectly for air drying.

My stuff gets "crunchy" sometimes too....

After they are dry I put them in the dryer for about 3-5 minutes with a wet towel or wash cloth and they relax a little....

I was doing 3-4 loads a day for myself, DH, DS, DD, her bf and their DS. My daughter does not live with me, she does not have a washer and dryer so she brings her clothes here. The dryer started losing heat, after DH replaced a part it started rying clothes faster so the savings went down to about $60 a month.

Our bathtub is seperate from the shower, since it is seldom used I have the drying rack in there. I have the portable clothes hanging thing parked in front of a register in the living room. If we have company I hide it all in my bedroom.

I went out and bought myself a wooden drying rack - I was going to buy 2 but decided I would see how well I did with this one. I hope I can not only save money from not using the dryer as much but if I don't heat up the house this summer with the dryer maybe my air will not have to run so much!!!

The retractable kind are barely noticeable when they aren't in use, I used to have one in my other place and I miss it a lot. It was in my kitchen. You could really stick them anywhere even in a small space. Besides doorways, over chairs, shower curtain rods, towel racks, I cant think of anywhere else. The ironing board is a good idea. That would be about the only use my ironing board would get though, since I never iron. LOL

I tied a clothesline between two trees for my clothesline but we lost our fence in 05 with the hurricane so now everyone can see our goodies. We're the corner lot. So I hang less often now and try to wait when my neighbor is not home, he's made some rude remarks about it. I need to get to putting in a new fence.
