I just started doing th organic thing and *trying* to get DH on the bandwagon.
I have been getting milk and when I go shopping this weekend I plan on buying organic produce. I like Cascadian Farms cereal a lot. I also use Smart Balance butter because there is no partially hydrogenated soybean oil used. I love the Mrs. Freshley baked goods that a previous postermentioned, the oatmeal pies are the best! They also have twinkies and cupcakes which DH likes. FYI they also sell them at Walmart in the bread aisle for cheaper than Kroger normally.

Wow, You guys are way ahead of me. I do by whole wheat pasta, but not the organic brand. The same goes for the whole wheat flour. I do, however, buy raw honey. The best price I have found on that is at walmart. I think it is 42 oz for about $7. I buy regular eggs, but also use a product called "egg replacer" to replace the eggs in my baked goods. You can use it anywhere you would use eggs. YOu can't use them for merangue(sp?) though. My budget is extremely tight, but after reading your posts, I am going to start loking into what I can buy.

Edited to add: I went today to buy some fruits and veggies for the week. I went ahead and bought 2 half gallons of organic milk, and a dz organic free range eggs. We'll see how this goes.

Pretty much all of my dairy products and fruits/veggies where the skin will be eaten. We shop a at Trader Joes so we pretty much avoid additives, preservatives, etc. (that doesn't always necessarily mean it's organic). I also try to avoid corn syrup, MSG & food dyes.

Hi everyone,

I'm new to the group. I mostley buy organic since I became pregnant. I normally shop at Super Target. They have a wide variety of organic and all natural products. I have bought grapes and Fuji apple there also. It's kinda funny because, I was eating an organic fuji apple right before I posted this message.

If my budget can handle it, I buy just about anything organic. Most of the time I'm a little tighter on cash so we most definitely buy organic milk, free range, etc eggs. My biggest stickler is the High Fructose Corn Syrup. I try to avoid that like the plague.

I have noticed that Target seems to be adding more and more organic items to their Archer Farms line- which I think is very good. I just tried their organic tortilla chips this weekend. The ingredients list had four items. The Tostito's ingredient list had twice as many.

I buy organic:

Soymilk
Eggs - free range
whole grain pastas
pasta sauces (Newman's Own)
dog food (Wellness brand)
dog vitamins
mouthwash
toothpaste
soap
skincare (cleanser, toner, moisturizer, etc)
makeup
vitamins
bedding (bamboo)

In my area, I really don't see much price increase for organic and natural goods. The dog food is more expensive than commercial brands, but my dogs have very sensitive digestive systems, and even vet-recommended foods didn't help them. Since going organic, they are healthier than ever. I order from Smartpak and save about $12 a month versus buying it at a local store, but that is still higher than commercial dog food brands. But not only is it organic, it is completely made in America, like my other favorite brandsL Tom's of Maine, Burt's Bees and Newman's Own. So often, going organic is supporting industry here at home, too! And green industry at that - Silk soy company uses green processing.
