What was your Simple Pleasure over the weekend?

Mine was getting to spend time with Mom, watching the kids play and relaxing by the fire pit at night.

What made your heart happy this weekend?

This happened today not this weekend, but it just absolutely warmed my heart....

DD and I went to Chick-Fil-A today for lunch and for her to play on their indoor playground. There were already 5-6 older kids (aged 4-6) playing. Riley scampered right on up with them all the way to the very top. Well then they all decided to hop down from the fourth level to the third level (why are these things so freaking high? LOL ) but Riley was afraid to hop. She lookes out at me from the top and said "I can't do it. Come get me." Well my heart just broke as I tried to determine if I could indeed fit up inside these crazy tubes when one of the older girls said to her "Lift up your arms and I'll help you down". So I see my little one lift up her arms and this other girl very gently lifted her down to the next level. Next I hear Riley said "Thank you!" and seconds later the two of them come down the swirly slide just laughing with Riley in the front and her little helper straddling behind her. They hop off the slide and Riley says "This is my new friend!" before they both ran off to climb and slide again. It's such a silly little thing but it just about melted my heart. Naturally I had to tear up with happiness like a big old fool. LOL

Anyway, that was my feel good moment for the day and quite possibly the entire month.

We took my daughter to Riverfront Park (Spokane, WA) and she rode the carrousel for the first time! I rode this same carrousel for the first time when I was in the 8th grade and it is just amazing to see her enjoy something that I once did! It's a great carrousel - built in 1909! Hand craved, hand painted, simple beautiful!
