Mine is on board with me, but I am definitely the leader (I would say the brains behind the operation, but my brain is kind of fuzzy these days). Some of my ideas make him roll his eyes, and I don't think he'd take a cloth shopping bags to Lowe's, you know? But he's a pretty good sport, although he did wonder if someone had replaced his wife with a Spender when I started buying organic food.

Dh is totally totally there. He's agreed with every change we've made so far, I'm surprised we're not on a commune by now!

That's us too. He was way more simple than I was when we were married. Last night we had a couple over for dinner. This is really classy, well dressed, successful, attractive couple (we're more crunchy / tree hugging / natural) and we got talking about simple living / downsizing. They were so excited to talk about it. Then they said, "You guys are the coolest couple we've met." Oh my goodness, I nearly laughed until I cried. We are so 'uncool' it's unbelievable. To hear it from a couple so attractive and classy really cracked us up. But again it encouraged me that we are inspiring others by our lifestyle.

He's about half and half. A lot of things there are no objections, but I often hear 'but what if we find a use for that/need one of those some time in the future?' I'm trying to find a balance between simplifying, keeping things frugal, and reorganizing so that it feels like we simplified.

Example: The utility room, was nothing but clutter to me. When income tax came in, we bought a shelving unit on sale, and bought a kit of accessories to with the pegboard that is out there that we never really noticed before. Now it feels like we simplified because everything is organized better - we did get rid of a few things while organizing, but not really all that much. Spent some money I would have liked to have not spent, but it was worth it.

My husband usually goes along with whatever I do ... though I will admit he often thinks I'm crazy about different things! But even he agrees that we have too much "stuff". Of course that doesn't stop him from buying our daughter more "stuff"!

Jenn,
You already know how my dh feels about it!! He's not on board at all! We almost had a battle of frugal vs spend at the festival saturday. I gave in to "all access hand stamps" (at $18 each!) for him and the kids and I told him I'd stay and keep hold of Jenna. Really my cheap self just wanted to save the 20 bucks. I didn't want to get into a major battle and ruin our day so I gave in. And I am glad I did the kids had a blast, they road everything! My 4 year old baby on the roller coaster! I couldn't believe how fearless they were! Back to the subject, My dh even bought funnel cake and yucky food for lunch, while the kids and I had our picnic food I had brought in the diaper bag. We still spent way more than I wanted but they had fun so that was good. Anyway, he's mr affluenza and I'm cheap, so we are trying to compromise!

My dh is more for it than I am I think! He hates "stuff" (unless it is for hunting) so he has no problems when I want to get rid of things.

My dh is very supportive. He does choke a little at what I spend on food for us every month, but we have stopped eating out as much and that offsets it a bit. He knows how much it means to me and he knows the inner struggle I am dealing with these days to free us from all the chemicals and nasty things in everything around us, and he loves me for caring so much. He has known me for 20 years and I have always been this way, but I got a little lazy for about 5 years after my first child was born and stopped paying as much attention. But the last year I have been back with a vengeance!

The one thing we can't agree on is cleaning products. He wants to "smell" the clean kitchen, bathrooms, and hardwood floors.

My DH is more for it than I am. He's had no problems adjusting to our single income while I need, well, as much help as we can get! These forums are great and so helpful!
