Every table in the living room becomes a drop point. The coffee table, the end tables, every shelf on the entertainment center.... keys, toys, books, newspapers, misc junk, cd players, cd's, anything and everything ends up there. I HATE it. Its the room you walk into thru the front door so its the first impression -- and I cant stand when its messy.

In our house it sees to be shoes.... With 5 of us there is always a pile by the front and side doors. I sometimes try to put them away in the closet, but withing no time they are out again with all of the in and outs of the day. I wish I had a mud roo where we could just take off all our shoes and close the door!!!

Paper
Toys
Laundry

especially laundry. We have a six month old and a three year old. So one still spits up on everything, and the other one, new to potty training, pees on everything (we're working on aim. lol).

Mine are:
Papers
Laundry
Toys

Did anyone catch Oprah yesterday? Peter Walsh the organizing guru was on there? Very interesting. He talked about a myriad of things, but the one thing that struck me is he said if you have to think about an item you are trying to declutter. You don't need it. I am sure you can catch more on Oprah.com I thought I would share

Paper of any kind is my monster. Between regular stuff (mail, newspapers, catalogs, etc) and my college coursework (AWFUL!) and my non-profit secretarial stuff, I just can't keep up. I am comforted however, that my paper mess is much less than my mother's. She is a "clipper" and has clippings from magazines, newspapers, newsletters, etc everywhere. I eliminated that by using the evernote program -- free to download and absolutely wonderful.

I also have a lot of trouble with the nightstand in my bedroom. It always has spare change, magazines, books, to-do lists, pens, receipts, homework, eyedrops, and lotion on it!
