I know there has been times in the past where I was broke and had to make due.
It was the day before payday and I started my cycle. I was broke. I made a pad out of 2 paper towels and taped the bottom. What's the cheapest thing you ever did while broke.

I've duct taped the kids tennis shoes together during the summer. I just didn't want to buy new shoes for them when they mostly go barefoot or wear sandals all summer and really didn't need new tennis shoes until school started.

College years:

Ate pancakes for breakfast, lunch and dinner for almost a month and a half! (not kidding). I snacked on raisons!

Made a pancake flipper and griddle to use on top of our stove out of a 2 pack of throw away tin baking pans. Wow...we were really broke!

The cheapest thing I ever did was when I was a single mom. I didn't have any money and was running out of stuff to make so I made my sister and I egg hash. I made scrambled eggs and put in cheese and some other things I had around the house for dinner. I can't remember what else I put in it. It wasn't too bad but it was creative to put it nicely.

In grad school, I had a similar experience to Christy except mine was spaghetti. Breastfast, lunch and dinner of spaghetti until payday.

I ate dry toast (didn't have any butter or jelly!) for breakfast and Raman noodles and water for lunch and dinner. I had to do this until I got paid, and I got paid every two weeks! This was many years ago.

Today when I see Raman noodles in the grocery store, it brings back "memories".

I was a single mom with a small dog... no extra money for dog food, but we had about 6 boxes of Cheerios for some reason. The dog ate cheerios for about 2 weeks...

Yep, I did that.
Also took napkins and straws so I wouldn't have to buy them.
