Sorry this is so late in the day - the morning just got away from me . . .

Day 3

Create a checklist of questions that will help you decide what to buy and what to forgo. At the very top of the list write your major life goals. Put it in your wallet. Then, when you are about to buy something, refer to your list. Does it help you with one of your life goals? Does it meet the criteria on your checklist of questions?

This is one that I often do mentally when I go buy something, but it might be a good idea to jot down a few major questions and stick it right with my money - a good reminder!

I just came across the tread and am going to jump in. I am not sure what u mean about life goals affecting whether I buy a shirt or not? This is the philosophy I use when shopping. Do u love it? If not, then put it back. I have just started applying this to all purchases. I used to do just clothes/shoes like this.
can someone post their questions b/c I am missing something. I guess it has more to do with are u wasting money?

I have been doing this as well...I just did it this afternoon when I purhased food at the grocery store. I got the cheapest versions of everything I got and I bought food to last me the week. I only spent $25 and that should last me breakfast, lunch and a few snacks during the day while im at work.

I even went to Target last week and I have really been wanting a new bedspread (the one I have now is ripping in the seems...but I still don't NEED it) but anywho, I only spent $30 for a king size comforter...I just made sure that what I was buying I actually needed (with the exception of my comforter) or it was going to end up saving me time or money in the long run!

I also spent a good amount of time trying to catch up on my previous challenges in between my weekend events!!! Im throwing things away and putting things away for a yard sale!!!

Im starting to feel more confident, thanks to mommysavers! Hopefully in another 27 days, i'll be organized and feeling great!

Goodluck to all you ladies!!!

shopping would be so much easier if one of my life goals were to be cool. Sigh. Off to write my list.

Some ideas of questions:

1. Will it help my goals? (for example if one of my goals is to be fit, will that grande mocha help that goal?)
2. Will it create more work? (cleaning, care, etc.)
3. Do I need it?
4. Do I just want it because it will make me feel better? What else can I do instead of buying it to fulfil that goal?
5. Will I have trouble getting rid of it in the future?

Hope that helps you ladies!
