I am so excited! I canned my first batch of bread and butter pickles yesterday. All but one jar sealed properly, so I put that jar in the fridge. I will admit, I was so clumsy yesterday since I've never canned before, but now that I've done it once the next effort should go much smoother!

My ds loves my homemade applesauce so that is next on the canning agenda

MMM - yummy! One of my best childhood memories is sitting on my best friend's porch eating her moms pickles. They were so delicious. I have not attempted canning yet, but I would love to try it.

That's great. I really need to get on the ball with canning or I'll end up missing this year.

Very exciting! I'm waiting for my cucumbers to "finish" hopefully our weather doesn't change before they're done. I just canned my first batch of green beans this past weekend and I figure a 2nd batch will be ready to go this weekend!

I get a lot of satisfaction from canning!

Oooo...I love bread and butter pickles! I'm jealous! I remember one time when I was a kid, my dad decided he wanted to can pickles, so he made up something like 20 jars! Well, he put in some peppers in all the jars and by the time we got to the last few jars, no one could eat the pickles because they were way to spicy hot! We still laugh about that now, but the first few that we had were wonderful.
