Alright ladies, here's a good one, but it might take a while:
Get into your closet!
1. Sort your clothing into three piles: the ambivalent pile, the recycle pile and the love it pile.
2. Put the recycle pile in your car and take to Goodwill, the thrift shop or tag for a yard sale.
3. Put the clothes in your ambivalent pile on wire hangers and put in the back of your closet or in another closet. Practice living without these clothes for six months. Mark the date on your calendar to get rid of anything in this stash that you didn't get out!
4. Put the love it clothes back in your closet on nice hangers, well organized.
This is a good one for me - last fall I was pregnant, so I didn't even get into many of my fall/ winter clothes and I've just about worn through my summer stuff since I've been pregnant or nursing for the last few summers and haven't bought a thing! I should be able to get my wardrobe down to a manageable amount and see what (if anything) I really need to start looking for!
If you've done this for clothes, work on your shoes!
