I bought mine at the thrift store for a bit less than that, but I didn't care about the logos on the bag.

I live in the States but am in Canada at least once a year - we were there two weeks ago and I bought the greatest grocery bags! They are all black, with a green silkscreened logo on it, showing a pop bottle with plants growing in and around it, and it has the words, "Responsibility, nature, earth," etc. on it. I LOVE them! I think I got them from a store called "SaveMore" (?) Everyone asks me where I got them and I tell them, "In Canada! You can't get them here!" Had to edit to add the best thing: when they wear out, they will replace them for Free!

A lot of places are carrying these now. Not all canvas but bags that can be reused. I have seen them at Trader Joe's, Raleys's, and Target. Some sores are now giving benefits for using these bags too. Trader Joe's gives you a ticket to put in a drawing for free groceries. Raley's takes 10 cents off for each bag you bring in.

I'm in the St. Louis area too and I have seen them at several stores but not all locations of that store. Walmart, ShopNSave, Schnucks, Dierbergs and even Walgreens. All of them sell for about a $1.

I bought some at our local hyvee and I like them. I bought about 10 of them. Sometimes we buy so much at a time and I really don't like having to have a million plastic bags around. I recycle the plastic bags at the store but its a pain. I recommend the cloth bags. Erin

So I make sure I remember them I put them in the car once they are empty. If I am ready to check out and I have forgotten them I go back out to the car and get them. I have only forgotten them once.

I'm always on the look out for tote bags. I still have some plain canvas totes that I purchased over 10 years ago. My only problem with them is that they wash TERRIBLE.

Right now Target has a cute grocery bag that folds up on itself. Even my DD loves them.

Plus Costco is currently selling HUGE plasticized tote bags - 3 for $9.99. These bags are so handy, I'm thinking of picking up another set because hubby keeps using mine.
