Buy reusable containers for school lunches, so you don't have to use baggies. Try the Waste Free Lunch, send a cloth napkin to school and have your kids bring them back, don't use juice boxes (although they are nice in a pinch), don't buy single serving foods...I'm sure I'll think of more.

I agree with SO many of these:

Recycle, reuse, REFUSE (that is a good one that saves money), reduce

Don't package lunches in ziploc bags - what a waste, use rubbermaids (or my favorite is my laptop lunch box for my girls)!

Make crafts out of recyled materials, draw on copy paper you intend to throw away...

My BIG one - get off ALL mailing lists, call and cancel catalogs, don't buy magazines (it is all on the internet anyway and won't clutter your life), etc... then you save money by not spending on things in the catalogs, getting a new credit card, via the ads in the magazines, the magazine subscription costs, the paper it all takes!

Use reusable/refillable water bottles (ours are aluminum) - don't buy bottled water - get a filter for your faucet if you must, but use what you already have.

I have my own herb garden - then I can have fresh, dry them, etc.... without the cost.

Use your garden leaves as compost!

I think being green SAVES money!

So many useful tips!!

To go along with out throwing so much stuff out- try freecycle for anything you no longer need or even donate it to others in need.

I agree with planting your own herbs and vegies- but I also like planting trees! We have tons of baby maples that we don't cut down- I put them in my little tree garden to grow at least a foot tall and we replant them (when we go camping, if we go on a hike and I am planning on give some at my dd's birthday party) so they can grow large! They came for free so I consider that frugal!

Another thing that I am planning on doing (once I know how to sew)- I plan on making quilts out of the outgrown clothes and stuff that we can't part with (it will take up less space!). I am also thinking about making rag dolls (at least I know these won't need to be recalled for lead!).

Use cloth napkins.
Make your own convenience foods (less packaging)
Shop 2nd hand or swap with a friend for things
Don't throw away good things freecycle them or take them to a thrift store
repurpose things

Recycle paper, plastic, etc
Change your lightbulbs great for the environment, it will cost more up front but you don't have to buy them as often.

I agree with reusable lunch containers!!

Well I think my biggest savings is by using cloth diapers. Disposable are expensive and so hard on the environment. I also use reusable grocery bags. It gets me a small discount at the counter at some stores and entered in a raffle for free food at others.

Turn off power when not in use...save $$$$! Shut off lights, turn down the thermostat in your home...your home is one of the biggest energy drainers....insulate, etc. Going green saves a lot of money.
